Privacy Policy

The short version: Parkoplex is built without cameras. Our sensors detect metal, not people — they cannot identify you, your licence plate, or your face. We collect only what a feature genuinely needs, we don't sell personal information, and location is always opt-in.

1. Who we are

Parkoplex is a smart parking availability platform operated by XYZ Canada Inc. ("Parkoplex", "we", "us"), 427 Cobblehill Drive, Oshawa, Ontario L1K 1Y6, Canada. We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Ontario privacy law.

2. What we collect

Contact form information — name, email address, and the message you send us, used solely to respond to your enquiry.
Location data (app, opt-in only) — if you use the Parkoplex Drive app and grant permission, your device location is used in real time to show nearby availability, assign a spot, and provide navigation. Location is processed for the session; we do not build movement profiles and we do not sell individual location data.
Parking sensor data — our in-ground sensors report whether a space is occupied or vacant, battery and signal health. This data is about a space, not a person: sensors contain no cameras, microphones, or licence-plate readers and cannot identify vehicles or individuals.
Basic technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and site operation.

3. What we do not collect

No video, photographs, or audio — anywhere in the system.
No licence plate information.
No payment card data on this website.
No advertising trackers or cross-site profiling cookies.

4. How we use information

To operate the availability and navigation service, respond to enquiries, monitor sensor and platform health, and produce aggregated, anonymized occupancy analytics (for example, "Lot A peaks at 8:40 AM"). Aggregated analytics never contain personal information.

5. Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information only with service providers that host our infrastructure (for example, web hosting and form delivery providers) under contractual confidentiality, or where required by law. Lot owners receive aggregated occupancy statistics about their facility — never individual driver identities or location traces.

6. Retention

Contact enquiries are retained for up to 24 months. Session location data is not retained beyond what is needed to deliver the live feature. Sensor occupancy events are retained as non-personal operational data for analytics.

7. Security

All traffic to this site and our services is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Access to systems is restricted, protected by strong authentication, and reviewed. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we design for minimal data collection first — information we never collect cannot be breached.

8. Your rights

Under PIPEDA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may withdraw consent (including revoking the app's location permission in your device settings at any time). Contact our privacy officer at admin@parkoplex.com and we will respond within 30 days. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

9. Children

Our services are directed at drivers and parking operators and are not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be highlighted on the website.
